I’m very concerned for the welfare
of millions of kittens and cats in the next
few weeks!

You see, “fall kitten season” will soon arrive… the time when unmanaged feral cat colonies in New York City and across the country explode with new births.

I’m sure you agree, each precious cat deserves a chance at a good life. But kittens born to feral cats on the street suffer mortality rates as high as 75 percent, and unneutered feral adults live on average only to the age of two years. But with your help, we’re changing these tragic numbers.

For example, take Chloe. When our volunteers found her, she had just given birth to a litter of mewing kittens. Like many feral cats, Chloe was emaciated and exhausted. Never having been spayed, she had given birth more times than her body could handle. She could barely feed her young.

Without our intervention, her babies may have died for lack of food and shelter. Any kittens who did survive would have been doomed to repeat the sad cycle… without spaying and neutering, they could only add to the overpopulation of felines already in our communities.

But your past generosity helped us save Chloe, her little ones and the lives of so many cats and kittens like them. Now Chloe is fixed and living happily with her feral family while her babies are in loving homes. You’re among the caring and progressive people who understand how Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the most humane and responsible solution for an overabundance of cats.

And unless we act quickly to increase our efforts to expand TNR programs – by fixing more cats, training more caretakers, speaking to more groups and government officials – many more cats may die instead of receiving the care and respect they deserve. Please help as you can:

  • $25 will help spay or neuter one cat, which means a healthier cat and fewer ferals on the streets
  • $35 will pay many of the expenses of rescuing and fostering kittens young and docile enough to be placed in homes
  • $50 will buy a trap, helping us catch more of the adults and end their constant stress from reproducing
  • $100 will pay for us to put on a training workshop and bring
    Trap-Neuter-Return to more communities

And this would make a wonderful tribute to yourself and a gift to NYC’s homeless cats: $250 pays for all of our expenses to TNR an entire feral cat colony!

Please think of Chloe… weakened from too many litters… and her kittens who owe their survival to Neighborhood Cats and you… then send the most generous gift you can today.

Thank you in advance for all you do for Neighborhood Cats.

For the cats,

Bryan Kortis
Executive Director

P.S. Please donate today… and create happy endings for the cats we love! Thank you! Compassion and Understanding will save the cats – thanks to you!”
